VIGIK+: what residential property managers should prepare before 2030
Resident badges, professional access, central and updates: the points to consider in order to prepare a useful transition to the building.
Topic year 2026

A postal worker cannot enter, a property manager is replacing an intercom, or a residential building needs better control of its access cards. Each situation is a reason to examine the access system as a whole. The transition to VIGIK+ concerns authorised service providers and should be included in the building’s maintenance planning.
Two accesses to be distinguished from the start
Residents’ access cards and service providers’ access credentials have different purposes, even when they use the same reader. The VIGIK Association states that moving to VIGIK+ does not, by itself, require residents to replace their personal access cards. Replacing those cards would be a separate decision by the property manager. See VIGIK+ presentation.
Understanding the deadline of 1 January 2030
The VIGIK Association’s published schedule gives 1 January 2030 as the end date for the original service. During the transition, an original installation and an installation already using VIGIK+ must be distinguished. Stopping the use of old credentials on a VIGIK+ reader does not mean that every original installation stops immediately. View the official calendar.
Request a specific state of the art
- Identify the power station, drive, version and mode of updating.
- List the relevant doors and professionals to be able to enter.
- Check the possible connection and organization of updates.
- Provide a post-intervention test with the relevant accesses.
A connected access controller can make remote administration easier. The available functions depend on the equipment and associated service. Aiphone offers HEXACT VIGIK+ systems with real-time management. An existing installation still needs to be identified before its compatibility can be established. Consult the Aiphone equipment.
Preparing the trustee's decision
For a useful proposal, provide the number of entrances, photographs of the equipment and a description of the actual problems. Alltech can examine the intercom and access control equipment, then identify what can be retained and what needs to change. Planning should also identify who will manage access permissions after the work.
