Maintenance and troubleshooting: regain expected operation

TV, network, Wi-Fi, interphony and access: prepare the diagnosis, intervene on the equipment and follow the points that remain to be dealt with.

Start from your situation.

A visible network that no longer gives access to the Internet, a channel absent in several rooms or a door whose control no longer responds: the same symptom may have several origins. Before passing, user observations are valuable. The parts concerned, the time of default, recent changes and the equipment affected help prepare the checks. It is also necessary to distinguish between building, network, access provider or software.

Alltech works on the equipment within its scope and organizes useful exchanges with other stakeholders. Monitoring must specify what was checked, the operations carried out and the reserves which remain open. A confirmation of operation by the user completes the technical report. For an active establishment, slots and access are prepared with reception, the manager or the site manager. We operate with or without a maintenance contract. Troubleshooting during intervention is possible; a package can be agreed for customers who wish to organize their monitoring and their budget.

The points that count.

Describe the defect

Specify whether it concerns an apparatus, an area or the whole site. Attach useful comments without providing a password via a public form.

Preparing for access

Identify technical premises, contact persons and times when checks can be carried out with as little inconvenience as possible.

Keep track

Note the scope controlled, the results and the next actions. An improvement on part of the site does not necessarily close all topics.

Intersecting services.

Preparing a troubleshooting that leads to a workable finding

A specific description helps to select the checks and organize the passage. It does not replace the diagnosis, but avoids leaving with a simple request for "re-starting" without knowing the places, dependencies and people available for testing. The right starting point is the expected operation, then what really changed.

Information to send with your request

  1. The service affected: TV reception, Wi-Fi, intercom, door control or other installed equipment.
  2. The extent: one bedroom, several housing units, one area or the whole building.
  3. The moment: first observation, frequency and special circumstances.
  4. The symptom: message, image absent, call without response or precise step that no longer works.
  5. Recent changes: work, displacement, cut-off or replacement equipment, if known.
  6. Access to the site: contact, technical premises and slots available.
  7. History: reference to a previous intervention, report or useful photograph.

The documents transmitted must help with identification. Passwords, confidential access codes and personal data must not be placed in a public request.

Check before replacing

The diagnosis must keep several avenues open until the verifications have decided between them. A collective TV difficulty may require examining power and distribution; An apparent network failure may require checking the connections before changing a terminal. An intercom installation can also retain private equipment which did not follow the renovation of the rest of the building. The history therefore helps to target the recovery as much as the symptom of the day.

The end of the passage does not mean that all topics are closed

Useful monitoring specifies four elements: what has been controlled, what has been modified, the result observed and what remains to be expected. In the documented files, satellite reception which has become correct again coexists with a still insufficient terrestrial signal; a satisfactory continuity check does not prevent a transmission fault from being retained in the report. Reserves must remain visible to prepare for the next step.

Confirmation by a user completes these findings. A hotel reception can check a room, an occupant answer an intercom call, and a manager confirm displayed information. The followed by a hotel over several years shows these back and forth trips between teams and users. Before getting started.

Is a contract required to request an intervention?

No. You can request an intervention repair without taking out a maintenance contract. The perimeter and conditions are specified before the passage. A package remains possible if you wish to package support.

Who intervenes if the problem comes from the servers?

The diagnosis must make it possible to identify the correct perimeter. Agedis can support systems, servers and network administration; Alltech deals with building equipment and installations.
