The verifications must be in accordance with the situation observed, without presuming the replacement from the outset.

Program needs, sockets to be served and cabling possibilities guide the choices. An existing installation must also be able to be maintained: locating the equipment and retaining useful information makes future visits easier. Identify the installation
Identify available references and locate reception and distribution equipment. This first tracking avoids dealing separately with the elements that work together.
Clarifying expectations
Distinguish between a breakdown, a new socket and an evolution of the desired programs. Each request calls for verifications and a suitable scope of work.
Preparing for access
Organize access to common areas, technical premises and the equipment concerned. The preparation takes into account the occupants and the real constraints of the building.

The first useful piece of information is the extent of the defect. The television no longer works in a single home, in part of a building or on all the sockets? Some channels remain visible? Is the problem permanent or appears at certain times? These observations make it possible to prepare a check on the right scale, without concluding too quickly that the antenna should be replaced.

Land and satellite reception: keeping separate records
An intervention report of July 2026 distinguishes a controlled satellite reception as a good, after reorientation for one part, of a UHF terrestrial signal which remains insufficient. A proposal for a resumption is still needed for this second point. This example shows why the result must name the function checked: finding a correct reception on a track does not allow to declare any repaired installation.
New installation, addition of socket or repair: different requests
For a new installation, it is necessary to describe the rooms or dwellings to be served and the expected programs. For additional support, the routing possibilities and the distribution in place should be examined. For a breakdown, the history and symptoms take priority. In a co-ownership, the manager facilitates access to common equipment and identifies, if possible, an occupant available for a test on a television actually used.
At the end of the transition, the monitoring must distinguish the controls carried out, the elements taken up and the actions remaining to be planned. For an existing facility which presents several difficulties, the preparation of troubleshooting helps to gather information before the appointment.
