2014: Digital signage becomes a content project too

Programming a screen involves deciding what it shows, when and who updates the information.

Readers integrated into the screens

At the February 2014 ISE, Samsung presents an evolution of its Smart Signage Platform, launched the previous year. This platform illustrates the growing integration of content management into professional screens. Samsung, 2014 presentation.

This technical possibility does not solve all the questions of a project. A screen installed in a reception must above all present useful information, readable and adapted to the people passing by.

Define the role of each screen

A screen can guide a visitor, announce a meeting or present the services of an institution. These functions require different content and rhythms. A long presentation is not necessarily suitable for an area where the audience stays a few seconds.

Prior to installation, specify the operating hours, location, reading distance and persons responsible for changes. The creation and updating of the content must have an identified contact person.

Planning for daily life

The date of an event, a futures offer or a change of venue must be easily corrected. The project benefits from including a real example of an update by the team that will use the system.

Alltech supports display projects with screens, their attachments, connections and preparation of use. The photographs here illustrate the active display; they are not presented as 2014 views.
