2012: Miracast introduces a new way to share a screen
A meeting screen is not only chosen by its size: the connection of users is part of the project.
Topic year 2012

A benchmark in wireless sharing
On September 19, 2012, the Wi-Fi Alliance announced the Miracast certification program. The principle presented allows content to be transmitted between compatible devices through Wi-Fi Direct, without imposing their connection to an existing Wi-Fi network. Wi-Fi Alliance, Miracast launch in 2012.
This launch helps distinguish two often confused needs: giving access to the network and displaying one device's content on another screen. A good internet connection does not guarantee that the desired screen sharing is available.
Preparing the uses of the room
In a meeting room, start with the devices actually brought: company computers, visitor stations and possible telephones. The systems used must be identified and the possibilities of display equipment checked.
The route counts as much as the technical sheet: select a source, allow connection, display the document and take hold after the meeting. A multi-user trial highlights the steps that require an explanation.
Maintain a visitor-friendly solution
A presentation may fail for a simple incompatibility of connection. A wired backup solution and the necessary adapters can be studied with the rest of the project.
The 2012 milestone does not imply that all current equipment supports Miracast. Alltech can prepare a set of screens, connections and controls from the site's uses and devices.
