Video surveillance: starting from the place and the need for coverage

A video surveillance project is being prepared in the field. Alltech examine the areas to be covered, the links available and the integration of the equipment into your building.

Visio · Webconf · Meeting rooms

Looking for a camera for your meetings?

Alltech also prepares the video and webconf rooms: camera, microphones, screen and content sharing, according to the uses of your teams.

Start from your situation.

A redesigned reception, new access or expansion can change the need for video surveillance. The first step is to describe the spaces involved and look at them on the spot. Possible locations, cable paths and equipment already installed guide the project. Where a system exists, its capacity and limitations must be identified before adding cameras. This preparation allows to build a coherent perimeter with the building rather than adding devices.

Alltech works on video surveillance equipment and field connections. Depending on the project, the work combines cable routing, installation of cameras and connection to the planned installation. The reuse of an existing network is checked with its IT manager. The organization must also define who uses the system and who monitors it. The access terms and rules applicable to the establishment are clarified with the people concerned before finalizing the commissioning.

The points that count.

Define zones

Describe what the establishment wishes to observe and identify constraints on site. The needs are then compared with the possibilities of implementation and connection.

Preparing the extension

Examine the capacity of equipment in service and available arrivals before planning new points. An addition may require adaptation of the installation.

Organize follow-up

Identify users and technical contacts. Maintaining usable information helps prepare for modifications and maintenance interventions.

Before getting started.

Can cameras be added to an existing system?

It depends on its characteristics, its available capacity and the possible connections. A preliminary review helps determine what can be kept or supplemented.

Is cabling included in the project?

The perimeter must specify this. It can include passages, connections and installation, or rely on connections prepared by another participant.

Connecting the right skills.

Agedis · a complementary skill

When video surveillance uses the establishment's IP infrastructure, Agedis can support its administration in addition to the field work of Alltech.
